Ranger's Apprentice book 6

                                          Hostage!The kingdom is in danger.The renegade knight Sir Keren has succeeded in overtaking Castle Macindaw and now is conspiring with the Scotti.The fate of Arulen rests in the hands of two young adventurers: the Ranger Will and his warrior friend, Horace. Yet for Will,the stakes are even higher. For inside the castle,held hostage,is someone he loves.And now the time has come for this onetime apprentice to grow up and protect the one he loves.


                                           An example of Will growing up to protect the one he loves is on page 79 in the book Ranger's Apprentice Book 6:The Siege of Macindaw.Will Barton has been keeping track of Alyss,the girl he liked for the past years in the castle with three other kids:Horace,George,and Jenny.In the text,"Will finished deciphering the last few words of Alyss's message." And on page 252,"Alyss,"he said quietly,"I love you."this shows that he admits his true feelings to her,she doesn't remember anything after hypnotized by Keren,but instead of him admitting it to her first,he gets a big surprise!Alyss loves him for who he is and that she will never give up on him no matter what.


                                          Another example is that when Alyss wrote a letter to Will :
       "Dearest Will,
             I trust this letter finds you well and happy.
             Lady Pauline is keeping me busy,but she gave me some time off to entertain Horace last week.He has been visiting for one of his swordsmanship classes.He said to give you his best wishes.While he has been here,I told him about a strange dream i keep having.We're back in the tower,and I have Keren's sword in my hand,and he's telling me to hurt you,and i can't refuse him.But then you said the most amazing and wonderful thing,and it completely breaks his hold over me.
              Horace says it might not be a dream.He believes it's a memory.I wish with all my heart that he's right,and that you did say what I think you said.He also told me that people like you and me spend too much time thinking things over and not enough time just coming out and saying them.I think he's right.Write to me please and tell me what you did say.In the meantime,I'll take Horace's advice and just say it myself.
           I love you.
   Alyss."
I think that this shows that Alyss does have true feelings for Will and that she loves him from that last line in the letter.She hopes to find out what Will had really said in the Tower with herself under Keren's control with the blue gemstone.

      
                                       In conclusion I think that this onetime apprentice to grownup to protect the one he loves and truly cares about.Horace says it might not be a dream.He believes it's a memory.I wish with all my heart that he's right,and that you did say what i think you said.He also told me that people like you and me spend too much time thinking things over and not enough time just coming out and saying them.I think he's right.Write to me please and tell me what you did say.Will said:
